And so it begins.

I have decided that I will blog my year.  I know that this is not really exciting to you the reader if you know me personally.  For those of you that do not know me personally this may prove to be even less exciting.
I was prompted to begin blogging today as I was packing up the "Christmas Junk."  This is the endearing term that Brad and I use to describe the mountains of dazzling trinkets and treasures that in December deck the halls and in January become lack luster clutter.  Anyway, as I was not so neatly cramming everything back into the various boxes, I was trying to remember the occasions surrounding the obtaining of some of these items.  For instance, there was an ornament with a picture of David taken in his kindergarten class. His sweet little face with that sneaky grin. I began to think about how much he has changed since that time.  So many things that he has said and done.  So many things that I have remembered but also so many things that I have forgotten.  I think that I have a terrible memory.  (In the heat of an argument, Brad may beg to differ.)  Therefore, I am going to blog this year in an effort to make more memories and congratulations, I would like to share them with you.

I think that I will post some goals for 2012.  These are not resolutions.  These are goals.  If I call them resolutions, they will get dropped like a hot potato.  However, these are goals and will therefore stick like glue.  (Are you convinced?)

These are the first quarter goals...(I better start off small)

1.  Yes, everyone starts off with some kind of weight, fitness, health type goals so here is mine.
I will exercise for 30 minutes, 3 times per week.
I will lose 10 pounds by March 30.  (That translates to a little less to a pound a week.  I mean come on, Mandy, you can do that)...I needed a little pep talk.

2.  I will read through the Gospels 3 times by the end of March. (Look for highlights of this in my blog).

3.  I like to send cards.  I will send at least 3 each week.  (I know that you will be out checking your mailbox every day.)

4.  I will try a new recipe each week.  Please feel free to send me your favorites.

5.  I will take at least 20 photos per week.  (Again, look for highlights of this in my blog.)

Ok, that is enough.  If I have more goals I will not meet the goals which will lead to disappointment and self loathing.

Happy New Year, Happy New Blog!!!
